How, then, should a patient know which treatment is best?

Swedish Dental assists you with this by offering a free consultation. In some cases, we recommend a conventional dental bridge, and in others, an implant-supported bridge.

As a rule of thumb, if you have large fillings in the adjacent teeth, we (and most dentists) recommend a standard dental bridge, as these teeth have already been prepared previously.

If, on the other hand, you have healthy teeth without fillings, a dental implant treatment should be performed. Our goal when treating you with a dental bridge is to achieve fantastic aesthetics so that you are satisfied with your smile when you leave the clinic.

Dental bridge treatment process:

  • Free consultation: New patients are offered a free consultation at Swedish Dental prior to treatment.
  • Examination: We ensure that you do not have cavities or other infections in the teeth and soft tissue before the dental bridge treatment begins.
  • Sanitization: Any infections, cavities, tartar, and periodontal disease are treated if necessary.
  • The dentist prepares the teeth that will be part of the dental bridge. An impression of the teeth is taken. The work is sent to a dental technician who manufactures a dental bridge of the highest quality.
  • The dentist cements the dental bridge in place and ensures the bite is correct.

Once the treatment is completed, regular check-ups are very important and are a requirement for the guarantee to remain valid. The dentist assesses your specific needs for follow-up care.

We assess your risk of developing cavities as well as the risk of periodontal disease. Other factors, such as general health and medications, naturally influence our assessment.

Many patients forget that a prosthetic construction requires more maintenance than your original teeth, which makes the importance of regular examinations incredibly vital.
