For us, guided surgery (computer-assisted implant treatment) has been a traditionally safe and proven method since the turn of the millennium, while it is a new technique for many other clinics.
Now we are moving forward and launching navigation surgery, which is the next step in the development of computer-assisted implant treatments. This method gives dentists more control and contributes to safer treatment during the operation.
This method requires a 3-dimensional X-ray (CBCT) to map the jawbone before surgery. After the X-ray image is taken, the dentist transfers the information to the Navident® computer program where the operation is planned. We can then determine how the jawbone changes depending on where you are on the X-ray image.
This contributes to very safe and accurate planning before the operation. This method of keyhole surgery differs from previous methods with guides as the dentist can orient themselves in real-time within the jawbone during the operation. The dentist sees exactly what they are doing and where they are in the jawbone on the computer screen in front of them.
Navigation surgery for dental implants is the very latest and gives the dentist more control during the operation than before, and has virtually eliminated pain, swelling, and bruising after surgery.
