This is how the teeth whitening process works:
- We first examine your teeth, gums, and the rest of your mouth to ensure there are no active infections, cavities, or periodontal disease.
- We treat any infections, periodontal disease, or cavities detected during the examination.
- An impression is taken of your teeth to create a mould. We can do this digitally by scanning, so you avoid the messy material (alginate) in the mouth, which is often experienced as unpleasant.
- After the aligners, which are custom-made for you and your teeth (7–14 working days), and a whitening kit that you take home have been produced, you can start whitening your teeth at home. The process takes between 5–7 days depending on the result you, as a patient, want.
A dental bridge is a procedure to replace missing teeth. Here is how the process works:
- First, we carry out an assessment of your mouth to ensure that a dental bridge is a safe option for you.
- We treat any infections, cavities, or periodontitis (gum disease) that we diagnose before proceeding with the bridge.
- The relevant teeth are prepared and shaped, after which we take an impression. As mentioned earlier, we take the impression digitally by scanning your entire mouth.
- The impression is sent to a technician, who produces a high-quality porcelain bridge, such as zirconia, e.max, or metal-ceramic (metal-ceramic is very uncommon, as we aim to work metal-free), which takes 10 working days. While the teeth are being made, you will receive temporary teeth so you do not have to go without teeth.
- The dentist then bonds the finished bridge to the prepared teeth and checks that everything fits correctly. You can then chew and eat as usual once the treatment is complete.
Dental crowns are used to treat teeth where a large part of the tooth has broken off due to a fracture or decay.
